Our Commitment to Regenerative Tourism

At Kingston Country Courtyard, we believe that travel should not only tread lightly—but leave a positive impact on the place, people, and environment it touches. As a family-run venue rooted in the heart of Dorset’s Purbeck Hills, we’ve made it our mission to protect and enhance our surroundings while welcoming guests with care, comfort, and intention.

Powering a Greener Future
We’re proud to be moving towards a low-impact operation. From August 2025, all of our electricity will be sourced exclusively from 100% renewable providers. We’ve upgraded lighting and appliances to energy-efficient systems and installed time switches to reduce unnecessary consumption. Guests are also encouraged to consider lower-carbon travel options when visiting us.

Smart Choices, Less Waste
We work closely with local suppliers to minimise food miles and support the Dorset economy. Behind the scenes, we’ve adopted practices that reduce single-use plastics, implemented comprehensive recycling and composting systems, and favour sustainable, reusable products throughout the venue. Our onsite Biobubble treatment system ensures that all waste water is safely and efficiently processed right here on the property, without impacting local water systems.

Supporting Nature, Inside and Out
Our gardens are planted with native, pollinator-friendly species and provide habitats for birds, bees, and butterflies. We avoid chemical treatments and manage our grounds in ways that respect the wider ecosystem of the Purbecks.

Celebrating Community and Local Gems
We champion local attractions that share our ethos, such as Blue Pool Nature Reserve and Careys Secret Garden—both of which offer inspiring, accessible days out. Our team are always happy to share recommendations that reflect the best of the local area while promoting places that care for the land and its people.

Together with our guests, we’re working to leave Kingston—and the wider world—a little better than we found it.
