Responsible Business & People Commitments

At Kingston Country Courtyard, our responsible business and people policies guide how we treat guests, staff, partners and our wider community.

Our Culture & Commitments

We aim to create a welcoming, respectful and supportive environment for everyone who visits or works with us. We believe hospitality should be inclusive, safe and fair, and we regularly review our practices, training and policies to ensure they reflect both legal requirements and our own values as a family-run rural business.

Inclusion & Fair Treatment

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion across our workplace and guest experience. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment. Our policies set clear expectations for behaviour, reporting and resolution, and we review these regularly with our team.

  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion commitment
  • Anti-harassment & anti-bullying standards
  • Fair treatment and dignity at work
  • Inclusive guest welcome

Safeguarding & Protection

We recognise our responsibility to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults, particularly through our work with schools, youth groups and external venues via our outside catering arm. Key personnel involved in these areas are DBS checked, and our safeguarding approach is reviewed annually.

We maintain clear reporting pathways and escalation procedures internally, while publishing a summary of our safeguarding commitments for transparency.

Ethical & Responsible Business Practice

We are committed to operating responsibly across our supply chain, employment practices and environmental impact. We expect ethical conduct from both our own team and our suppliers, and we actively work toward continuous improvement in sustainability and governance.

Environmental Management Approach

At Kingston Country Courtyard, environmental responsibility is managed through a structured Environmental Management Plan that guides how we reduce impact, monitor performance and improve our practices year on year.

Our environmental management approach covers energy use, waste reduction, responsible sourcing, biodiversity support and resource efficiency across both our accommodation and events operations.

We review our environmental actions regularly, set practical improvement goals, and involve our team in identifying opportunities to reduce waste and operate more efficiently. This includes supplier choices, reduction of single-use items, energy efficiency measures, and land stewardship across our grounds and woodland areas.

Progress against our environmental goals is reviewed as part of our sustainability and regenerative tourism commitments, and informs our annual improvement planning.
